eBay’s photo requirements for sneaker listings
Did you recently receive the below email from eBay about ‘Important changes to photo requirements for new sneaker listings’? Perhaps you found out about the additional photos required when you tried to list sneakers for sale. This blog post will help you meet eBay’s photo requirements for sneaker listings and make sure those extra photos are what buyers need to choose your sneakers over another pair.
Which photos to include in your eBay sneaker listings
The new requirement from eBay for sneaker listings states ‘at least 5 photos’ but I don’t think that’s enough for people to trust what you’re selling. I recommend including the following 8 photos of your sneakers:
3/4 view
Side view (outer side)
Top down
Front view
Back view
Defect and detail crops
Bottom of soles
Side view (inner side)
Now you know all the angles you need to make your sneaker listings sell and fulfil the new 5 photo requirement, you will also need to consider:
– Lighting to capture the perfect sneaker shot
– Backdrops – for the perfect white background
– The best camera and lens for sneaker images
– Which camera settings to use
– How to edit your sneaker shots using Photoshop, Lightroom and Canva
– Spot-on colour accuracy – to avoid ‘Not as described’ or SNAD complaints
You will find answers to all your sneaker photography questions in the How to Photograph Shoes to Sell course I created with renowned shoe photographer Rhian Cox. The course includes over 2 hours of video tutorials and 8 downloadable guides including an easy reference shot angles sheet.
